For many adults with disabilities across Maryland, winter doesn’t just bring cold weather—it brings months of being stuck indoors, limited social interaction, and a deep sense of disconnection from the natural world and their community.

At Lucky & Blessed Fishing (LABF), we see this problem up close every year.And this winter—we’re doing something about it.

🌞 Introducing the LABF Winter Outdoor & Environmental Stewardship Program

Beginning January through March, LABF is partnering with local park naturalists to bring monthly outdoor environmental education adventures to adults with disabilities from The Arc, BayCSS, Arvina, and other partner organizations statewide.

• 🧭 Teach environmental stewardship, conservation, and nature skills

This isn’t just a program—it’s a lifeline during the hardest months of the year.

💚 The Problem We’re Solving

Adults with disabilities across Maryland often face:

• Weeks with no outdoor time

• Limited social engagement

• Increased depression, anxiety, and regression of personal goals

• Barriers to transportation, access, and inclusive activities

LABF’s winter program directly tackles these challenges by creating monthly outdoor moments of connection that uplift health, independence, and confidence.

Each winter program day includes naturalist-led sessions, adaptive support, snacks, safe access to Maryland’s incredible park spaces, and caring LABF mentors and staff.

$10 sponsors wristbands for one event.

$25 sponsors one participant for one event.

$50 sponsors the event craft.

$100 sponsors lunch for one event.

$350 sponsors an entire partner group’s staff support.

$1,000 sponsors a full winter session for one partner organization.
