Scott Steers
Founder & President
Scott's journey from marketing and business development into consulting for non-profits, particularly churches, spans over two decades. His involvement with the differently abled community began when he volunteered with school-age kids labeled as "Slow Learners." Through this experience, Scott discovered a natural affinity and skill for connecting and communicating effectively with this population. Motivated by his positive experiences, Scott founded Lucky and Blessed Fishing two years ago and the organization has already facilitated over 300 fishing adventures for individuals across six counties in Maryland.
Colin Lennon Chairman of the Board
Colin is still working for the Department of Defense and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He fell in love with Kayak fishing about 4 years ago and try to get out on the water whenever he has the opportunity. Colin loves fishing but kayak fishing, specifically, is his passion. He also loves making youtube videos of his fishing adventures to share with those that don't always have the time to get out on the water and go fishing.

Kathy Cadigan
Secretary
Kathy comes to us recently retired from a 25 year career with a very successful Maryland company and she played a big part in their success. Kathy was so impactful to this organization that they had to hire four people to replace her! She developed management systems and processes that not only supported this companies growth, but she also was flown around the country to share these strategies with other companies in the industry. We are incredibly Lucky and Blessed to have her here to keep us on track and assist with the back office systems and processes!
Christina Cachero
Board Member
Christina came to us as a client first and this was due to an encounter with our Founder at a local boat launch. Scott and Kathy were going out on kayaks to target Rockfish and after catching a nice Keeper, that started a conversation at the dock. Christina filled out our contact form the next day and we had no idea the challenges that she has faced in life when we met. LABF quickly got her and Dad scheduled to fish with one of our LABF Boat Captains! She has hooked on LABF from that piont on and has become one of our best volunteers that really helped us grow to the organization we are today!
Kyle Beliczky
Director of Partnerships & Funding
Kyle of KB Fishing and Amped Up Outdoors has become a great friend and volunteer with LABF and he has more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit space! His journey and vast knowledge in those years in this space, aligns perfectly with the board needs, path and goals for LABF! Most importantly, he has a huge heart to give back and support our mission and man.. is this guy one amazing angler and a huge blessing to LABF!
Kai Brandjes
Director of Community Partner Events
Kai is US Marine Corps veteran and experienced boat captain and has developed a strong foundation in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. His work with the Arc of Central Chesapeake has deepened his understanding of the challenges faced by neurodivergent and differently abled individuals, and has instilled in him a passion for creating inclusive and supportive communities. Through this experience, he has developed effective communication strategies and a genuine empathy for individuals with diverse needs and he is excited for this next chapter with LABF!
